Simon Cowell is facing a lot of pressure to try and make his show, X Factor, better than American Idol and The Voice. Unfortunately, the show was said to have only averaged 12million people every week while Idol and The Voice were both going strong at over 20million viewers week by week. So, what better way to get the ratings up for the X Factor than fire every judge who came across as boring and slam his competitors.
Cowell is not a big fan of ‘The Voice’, clearly after the interview he gave to Extra. He criticizes Xtina, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo and explains that non of the artists have actually managed to make a star on their show while the X Factor – which is currently only known to have two judges – has music industry experts such as LA Reid, who launched the careers of Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson and many more while Cowell is known for founding singers such as, Cher Lloyd, Leona Lewis, and even One Direction.
In the interview with Extra, he says: “I would ask how many records have [The Voice coaches] made, how many artists have they discovered. That’s where we have to be different on the [X Factor USA] judging panel. It’s very important that you have people on the panel that have actually signed and made artists successful all over the world, not just have made hit records yourself. That’s why you have a judging panel.”
Rumors are swirling in tabloid magazines that Beyonce Knowles will take on the role as a judge on the X Factor as Simon has offered the singer $500million for a whooping five seasons – making it one of the biggest TV deals in history. The Voice opened up to an audience of 39.9 million viewers after its second season premiered following the Giants’ win at the Super Bowl.
